NOVEMBER 2000 P4P RANKINGS

The Microsoft Gonzaga Ratings Software has processed the data from a violent, high-stakes month in the WWF. While the top of the mountain remains gold and red, the tectonic plates of the middle rankings have shifted following the fallout of Survivor Series and the “WarGames” chaos.

[[ THE ANALYSIS: WINNERS & LOSERS ]]

THE ASCENSION: HULK HOGAN (RANK #1)

Hogan didn’t just stay at #1; he moved into a different stratosphere. By defeating Kurt Angle and Ted DiBiase in a single night at Survivor Series, Hogan’s P4P Index jumped from a 4.50 to a massive 6.50. He is currently the only “Triple Champion” in sanctioned history, and the software has rewarded his “Activity Multiplier” and “Strength of Schedule” accordingly. He is officially the benchmark for human combat.

THE NEWCOMER: ZANGIEF (RANK #4)

The “Red Cyclone” has made the most explosive debut in the history of the Gonzaga system. Entering at #4, Zangief has leapfrogged legends like Triple H and Undertaker in just three weeks. His demolition of Akebono, John Cena, and The Hurricane gave him the volume, while his dominance in the WarGames proved he could handle elite Super-Heavyweights. He is now the highest-ranked fighter without a major belt.

THE FALL: KURT ANGLE & TED DIBIASE

  • Kurt Angle (#5): The Olympic Gold Medalist drops one spot. While he fought valiantly, a submission specialist losing to a power-puncher (Hogan) in under ten minutes resulted in a significant Index hit.

  • Ted DiBiase (OUT): The “Million Dollar Man” has fallen out of the Top 11 entirely. His loss to Hogan was seen as a tactical failure, and the software penalised him for “avoiding elite competition” by trying to use Angle as a proxy. He has been replaced by the raw momentum of Zangief.

THE STAGNATION: THE BOXING SYNDICATE

Despite being technically “ready,” the Boxing Syndicate’s withdrawal from the WarGames has frozen their rankings. The Rock remains at #2 due to his undefeated record, but his “Inactivity Penalty” will begin to tick in December if he does not finalize a return date.

[[ THE CUTTING ROOM FLOOR ]]

  • DROPPED OUT: Ted DiBiase (Previously #7).

  • JUST MISSED: Sagat saw a slight bump after pinning The Big Show, but his “Tired/Slow” performance prevented him from breaking the Top 11.

  • WATCH LIST: Ryu (#10) faces Yokozuna in December. A win there could see him rocket into the Top 5 and displace a struggling Kurt Angle.

[[ ADMIN_NEIL NOTE: Zangief is officially a “Tier 1” threat. The software shows that if he secures a win over a Top 3 opponent (Kimbo or The Rock), he will be the mandatory challenger for Hogan’s UWC Gold. ]]
